Novosibirsk picture gallery “Siberian masters”
An idea of the project: popularization of Siberian fine arts.
Picture gallery “Siberian masters” was founded in October of 2000. Since that moment spade-work of our site creation has started. The site started his work in June 2001 as a result of the first expedition of the gallery staff in Siberia.
The idea of creation democratic, available for all painters (regardless of their status) common informational recourse has appeared long before gallery opening. The big work of studying Siberian art has been done; the details of interaction with painters have been discussed. As a result – the system of optimal and fruitful contacts between the gallery and painters, confirmed contractual relationships has been formed up.
Expeditions in distant towns and areas of Siberia – is the most difficult part of the gallery’s work. The purpose of the expeditions is a search and a maximum coverage of painters, theirs collections survey, creation of a database. We are saving up big artwork of studying Siberian fine art. At the moment our electronic collection numbers about 4500 works of more than 400 painters of Siberia and Altai. The site (
www.artsib.ru) is constantly being increased by new names and works.
At the moment the gallery organizes both group and individual exhibitions representatives of different genres and schools of classical and modern Siberian and Altai’s art.
Since September 2006 the gallery have exhibition pavilion (120 m2 +80 m2 +40 m2 ), designed in modern style which allow to exhibit about 150 pictures at on time. As the gallery has a possibility to organize within its precincts different cultural and training activities, it positions itself as a cultural and exhibition centre.
